Government connections, corporate partnerships, and investor introductions built on trust, diligence, and deep bilateral relationships.

Innovation & AI Collaboration

AI ecosystem exchange, smart city collaboration, and digital transformation dialogue between two of the world's fastest-moving technology communities.

The corridor exists. The infrastructure does not.
Vietnam and Florida are both growing rapidly — in trade, technology, capital, and ambition. Despite strong momentum on both sides, structured institutional engagement remains limited. VFEC is building that infrastructure: the relationships, the platform, and the convening power to make this corridor work at scale.

Mission

Why We Exist

The Vietnam–Florida Economic Council (VFEC) is a strategic platform focused on strengthening collaboration between Vietnam and Florida across innovation, AI, trade, investment, education, and institutional partnerships.

We exist because both regions are growing rapidly — and the structured infrastructure to connect them at a serious institutional level does not yet exist. VFEC is building that infrastructure.

We operate as a public-private collaboration model: part convener, part advisor, part matchmaker — always with a long-term orientation toward creating sustainable bilateral value.

Mission
To build a visible, practical, and lasting bridge between Vietnam and Florida — creating long-term economic value through trade, investment, institutional partnership, and shared market access.

Vision
To become the leading platform connecting Vietnam to Florida, and through Florida to the broader United States, Latin America, Europe, and the Middle East.

Model
Non-partisan. Public-private. Long-term. VFEC operates where government, business, and innovation intersect — not as an advocacy group, but as an execution platform.

Why Now

The Moment Is Right

Vietnam's Strategic Elevation

The US-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (2023) elevated bilateral relations to their highest level in history. Both governments are now actively pursuing deeper economic integration. VFEC is positioned to translate that diplomatic signal into commercial reality.

Florida's Global Ascent

Miami has transformed into a genuine international business capital — attracting global finance, tech, and trade infrastructure at a pace that outpaces most US cities. Its unique connectivity to Latin America, the Caribbean, and Europe creates a gateway role that aligns naturally with Vietnam's global ambitions.

The Infrastructure Gap

Despite strong momentum on both sides, structured institutional engagement between Vietnam and Florida remains limited. No dedicated bilateral platform exists at this level. VFEC occupies first-mover position in a corridor that will only grow in strategic importance.

Florida's Global Position

Gateway to the Americas

Florida is the commercial bridge between North America and Latin America. Miami hosts the regional headquarters of hundreds of multinational corporations, and serves as the financial and logistics hub for trade with 42 countries across the hemisphere.

International Trade Infrastructure

PortMiami is the deepest port in the southeastern US. Miami International Airport is the #1 US international freight airport by value of goods. Florida's trade infrastructure is built to move products, capital, and people across the globe efficiently.

Technology Ecosystem Growth

Miami has emerged as a genuine tech hub, attracting major venture capital, AI companies, fintech leaders, and Fortune 500 technology relocations. The Beacon Council reported $1.2B+ in new capital investment in 2025 alone.

Vietnamese-American Community

Florida is home to over 700,000 Vietnamese Americans — the third-largest concentration in the US. This community represents an extraordinary bridge: culturally fluent in both markets, professionally established in Florida, and deeply connected to Vietnam's business ecosystem.

Section 3

The Missing Corridor

"Despite strong growth on both sides, structured engagement between Vietnam and Florida remains limited today. No dedicated bilateral institution connects these two ecosystems at the executive and governmental level. VFEC is building exactly that."

No Dedicated Platform

Existing US-Vietnam bilateral organizations are Washington-centric or Vietnam-centric. None operate specifically from Florida or focus on Florida's unique international advantages.

First-Mover Advantage

VFEC enters a corridor with no incumbent. The platform that establishes institutional relationships, convening authority, and member trust first will own this space for a generation.

The Multiplier Effect

A Florida presence unlocks not just the US market, but access to Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe, and the Middle East — amplifying Vietnam's global reach through Florida's unmatched connectivity.

Market Entry Support

We guide organizations through the complexity of cross-border entry — in both directions. From initial market assessment to operational setup, VFEC reduces the time, cost, and risk of entering a new market.

  • Vietnam-to-Florida business expansion strategy
  • Florida-to-Vietnam market access and regulatory navigation
  • Ecosystem mapping and partner identification
  • Cultural navigation and business etiquette briefings

  • Corporate partnership and joint venture facilitation
  • Investor introductions — VC, family office, angel, and institutional
  • Trade association and chamber connections on both sides

  • AI ecosystem exchange programs between Miami and Vietnam tech hubs
  • Smart city collaboration between Florida municipalities and Vietnamese cities
  • Digital transformation dialogue and knowledge transfer
  • Startup and accelerator cross-border programming

  • Industry-specific roundtables with curated peer groups

Deep Dive — Top Priority Sectors
Artificial Intelligence

Vietnam's government has designated AI as a national strategic priority, funding research centers and creating regulatory frameworks to attract global AI companies. Miami's growing AI ecosystem — anchored by university research, startup capital, and proximity to Latin American markets — creates a natural collaboration axis. VFEC facilitates AI talent exchange, joint research, and commercial partnerships between the two ecosystems.

Logistics & Trade Infrastructure

Vietnam is one of the top 20 global trading nations. PortMiami is the deepest port in the southeastern US and Miami International Airport moves more international cargo by value than any US airport. The logistics corridor between these two hubs is underutilized relative to the bilateral trade volume. VFEC works to build the commercial relationships that close this gap.

Fintech & Financial Services

Vietnam has one of the highest mobile payment adoption rates in Southeast Asia, with a booming fintech sector and a population eager for modern financial services. Miami is a major financial center with sophisticated capital markets expertise. VFEC brings these ecosystems together — connecting Vietnamese fintech founders to Miami's capital and regulatory expertise.

Education & Workforce Development

Vietnam sends approximately 30,000 students to the US annually. Florida's universities — FIU, UM, FSU — have growing international programs. VFEC partners with higher education institutions to develop Vietnam-specific programs, scholarship pipelines, and workforce exchange agreements that benefit both countries' talent development goals.

Our Value to Government

What We Bring

For Florida government and economic development agencies, VFEC provides a trusted, non-partisan interface to Vietnam's government and business community — reducing the friction and time required to establish productive bilateral engagement.

For Vietnamese government and institutional stakeholders, VFEC provides the Florida-side relationships, market knowledge, and convening platform needed to make a Florida presence strategically productive — not just ceremonial.

Collaboration Models
Public–Private Partnerships

VFEC structures formal collaboration agreements between Florida public entities and Vietnamese government agencies — including joint economic development programs, investment promotion campaigns, and innovation exchange initiatives.

Trade Missions

We organize high-level trade delegations in both directions — Florida business and government leaders to Vietnam, and Vietnamese delegations to Florida. Each mission includes private meetings, government briefings, site visits, and structured business matchmaking.

Innovation Exchanges

Joint programs between Florida universities, research institutions, and Vietnamese counterparts covering AI, digital infrastructure, smart cities, and sustainable development — creating lasting institutional relationships beyond single events.

Strategic Dialogues

Invitation-only policy and strategy conversations between senior Florida and Vietnamese officials, conducted through VFEC's neutral convening platform — enabling candid engagement on economic priorities, regulatory challenges, and bilateral opportunity.

Note for institutional stakeholders: VFEC operates as a non-partisan, non-governmental platform. We are not affiliated with any political party, government agency, or single corporate interest. Our role is to facilitate productive engagement — not to advocate for particular outcomes. This independence is what makes us effective as a convener across government, business, and civil society.
